I just experimented 8 followed directly by a close parenthesis turns into the "cool" smiley. If you put a space between the 8 and the parenthesis, it is just that. So and 8 )

I find that if I turn around 6 times, squint and then shut my eyes, I can see "brickmaker" Looks more likely than shoemaker, anyway!
