Re: Ship Rabine in 1892

Sorry, I need to address the two different names Rabine and Aabine. The handwriting matches Rabine rather than Aabine but I will look further.

Re: Ship Rabine in 1892

Once again, very many thanks for all the help. The date for the Rabine in Greenock matches the date when my grandfather took a berth and left his first wife. Lietke is obviously the correct spelling for the agent. I am sure that there will be other hand written words with which I shall need help and...

Ship Rabine in 1892

I am having problems tracing a ship named "Rabine" (I think that is what the hand written record says) which left Greenock in July 1892. I believe that it was destined for the USA via the West Indies. My grandfather is recorded in divorce proceeding held in his absence as having a berth on the ship ...

Re: george whyte gordon help please?

My thanks to nelmit for her research in the Scottish archives. Her leads have enabled me to find his birth record and marriage details. These together with information from his youngest daughter (my 90 year old aunt) have enabled me to trace his adoption and where he was living etc etc. I have copie...

Pictures Aberdeen, Saint Nicholas c. 1900

I have traced relatives living in Aberdeen, Saint Nicholas at the end of the 19 century and into early 20 century. In particular Hutcheon Street, Catherine Street and Canal Street. I think that there were tenement buildings there that were demolished. Please, does anyone know of a source for photogr...

Re: george whyte gordon help please?

Dawn has kindly put me on to these posts but I have only just realised that there were two pages. (initially I only looked at the first page) George Whyte Gordon was my maternal grandfather. His daughter Nance is still alive and I have information and photographs from her. She is obviously very inte...
