HI; Just wanted to thank Anne and Andrew for their replies. I also wanted to make a correction- it is not the husband's surname that is mentioned on occasion in the record but the wife's maiden name ( that 's what makes searching for a woman a little easier). Just today I saw the OPR for death up to 1854 were available. I did read the warning but to my pleasant surprise I hit the jackpot( a small one anyway).
