Re: WORKMAN & ROSS FAMILIES PROBABLY OF WEST KILBRIDE

Hi VietnamBear Apologies for late response but I have not been monitoring this topic for some time now. As it’s 12:55AM here in Western Australia, I have not consulted my genealogy notes to verify the following: On 11 Jul 1923, at Saltcoats, Ayrshire, Jessie Baird WORKMAN (b. 19 Feb 1887 d. early Fe...

Re: Peter Reynolds - 23.12.1905 - 27.5.1947

FYI: Interesting to note the number of children born at Kilwinning, Ayrshire. From memory, there was an Army camp ( Royal Army Corps of Transport ? ) on the then main road between Kilwinning and Irvine when I was a boy; early-mid 60s or thereabouts. Kilwinning would have been ideally situated for Ma...

Re: CLYDE FISHING BOATS KY569 AND BF510.

I concur thanks. It most certainly appears to be "Sunshine" during wartime service. The last remaining relative who could have identified any of the men as one of our MURRAYs unfortunately passed away 6 months ago in Canada. Thank you nonetheless =D> . EDIT: May I enquire how you came by the photogr...

Re: Request for Census Look Ups

Archibald Robertson's parents were Daniel Robertson and either Lillias or Lillian Duncan. I can't quite read her name. You could check Daniel and Lillias/Lillian's marriage cert. to see who her parents were. If they are the same as Margaret's, let us know and one of us can check the census records ...

Re: Request for Census Look Ups

Hi once more Alan 1841 Census should read "Shellknowe, Ballantrae" and being Saltcoats bred myself "Panbrae" in the 1851 Census I know to be an extension of Quay Street. Coincidentally, my paternal grandmother's family (MURRAY) also resided in Quay Street at the mid-late 1800s & she married a McCREA...

Re: Request for Census Look Ups

Thanks to all thus far.

More SP research results to follow.
