Re: William Ewen MacLennan (1903-1930+) in Montreal or Quebec, Canada.

I think it is likely the two entries in the 1930 passenger list, Mary and Roderick W are transposed in error and that Mary age 25 is his wife and Roderick W. age 4 months is his son. The Canada voters list for 1953 and 1965 shows William E. MacLennan, manager (1953) and waterworks engineer (1965) an...

Re: BC, Canada - localities

It appears B.C. Archives are moving along fairly quickly but how long until the rest are available is anyone's guess. As I mentioned I can obtain a copy of the records at the local library, so if you post or p.m. the details I will get it on my next visit. Unfortunately, I believe the library only h...

Re: BC, Canada - localities

You are correct. Sidney is a village in the northern geographical area of Saanich (a peninisula north of Victoria). There is a new site that B.C. Archives has put up that will eventually have scanned copies of all ,the released to the public, B.C. BMDs. See http://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc...

Re: family of Thomas Douglas and Agnes Marr

Hi Robyn I picked up 6 records yesterday (3 marriages and 3 deaths). On two of the death records, the informant was a son. I also found a couple obituaries on line which name quite a few relatives.... see http://classifieds.canada.com/vancouver/archives/index.aspx?cls_id=37913&goback=30 So there may...

Re: family of Thomas Douglas and Agnes Marr

Do you have a copy of the death records? The informant will be shown who is often is a child. The record has other information that the familysearch site does not include. I can get a copy from my local Vancouver library if you like. Also the three marriage records are also available which I can get...

As a follow up, I obtained the birth record for John Dalveen and feel there is a strong probability this is the birth record I am looking for. I had blinkers on and did not extend my lateral thought sufficiently. It would appear that Thomas Napier's death may have been manufactured, and since I have...

Thanks Maureen for your response. I had found the IGI record and know who Thomas Napier’s parents were, John Napier and Janet Burton. My problem is to locate Thomas’s death record. He apparently died at a young age and I would like to know where and how. Annette M, you have given me something I had ...

Death Record for Thomas Napier

I have been unable to find a death record for my ggrandfather, Thomas Napier, b.1847 Glasgow. Verbal history handed down via my mother said he died in Scotland but I don’t know where. I believe he died sometime between 1874 and 1881 since son (my grandfather) John Napier was born June 1874 in Edinbu...
