Re: On The MCKINNON Trail

Hi Anne, Thanks for your reply. Sorry for confusing you. These are confusing people for sure!! I have been searching for Archibald MCKINNON for over 10 years, but my father has been searching for him for many years before that. It was he who provided the names of Archibald's parents, Neil MCKINNON a...

Re: On The MCKINNON Trail

Hi Wilma, Thank you for your reply. I have now found Christina (MCDOUGALL) MCKINNON's 1886 death in Hutchesontown, Lanarkshire. She was a 71 year old widow. So, yet another move for these folks! I still didn't catch up to them on any 1871 census. Sometimes SP can be tricky to search. I must be using...

Still more to uncover yet. The main brick wall has been my great great grandfather, Archibald MCKINNON b. abt. 181...

Found! Great Granny

One hundred years after Great Granny stepped onto a ship in Greenock, Scotland and sailed away to Canada, I finally found her. It took me ten years. It took this long because she married several times and I didn't have her last married name. This was complicated by the fact that she was a bit of a f...

Re: When Did GGGGrandmother MCGREGOR Die?.....

Hi folks, I think I have my answer to my title question and have the date of my great great grandmother's death, and now I'm interested anew in the marriage of her daughter, Ann Banner MCGREGOR to Archibald MCLARTY that took place August 27, 1868 in Lochgilphead, Argyll. What are the names of Archib...

FLETCHER & MCNICOL Glen Orchy

Thank you everyone! Your help is much appreciated. Too bad though ... I was hoping for some clue as to the father of Marion (my great grandfather.)

Help Reading Notation in Margin Please!

I have been waiting for this for a long time ... my maternal grandmother's birth registration! As an illegitimate baby, who grew up to have an illegitimate baby herself, she was unfortunately not talked about much. I was hoping maybe a father was listed, but there is none. However, there is some sor...
