Re: Ancestry dna

Mostly their changes just confused me. How could I suddenly be 64% Finnish when I for sure only had one Finnish parent (Mom). I lost my Iberians altogether along with half of my Scottish and Irish relies, but picked up a few more in Western Europe. Before all this I have made contact with a couple o...

Re: Raitt family

If you belong to Facebook, there is a Raitt Family page on there too. David Raitt who authored the website is a frequent poster and many people have posted their Gedmatch kit numbers if you have had your DNA tested and downloaded the results to Gedmatch. I don't have a match with him unless it is ve...

Raitt family

Hi all, If you have Raitts, Rait, Raet and several other spellings in your family tree, you may find this website useful: http://www.raitt.org/aberdeenshire-raitts.html. The author has done extensive research on the Raitt family with 25 pages on the Aberdeenshire Raitts alone. I printed out that muc...

Re: FORREST / NAPIER family

Hello, I had a look at Ancestry.com for Christina's family and there are as Andrew said quite a few records available. On the 1901 Census, she is living at Auchloy Farm in Perthshire with her parents and a bunch of children. There are at least 10 children showing on the census records from 1871 to 1...

Re: Help please

Hi Ailsa, I've been looking around for Mary and Elizabeth too with no luck. Of course, if they married, they are probably hiding in plain sight! I did find one Elizabeth whose mother's maiden name was McCallum, but she was up in Lockgilphead and from the looks of the records on Ancestry she isn't yo...

Re: Help please

Took a quick look at Ancestry.com. There was an Agnes ME Wright married to Adam Wright on the 1901 census. Don't have a clue what the initials would stand for.

Re: Help please

Found Alexander Sr. He died in Kelvin on July 10, 1897 in the Western (?) Infirmary. Son James was the witness. The handwriting on this cert. is difficult to read so I'll let you sort that out.

Re: Help please

There are a couple of Canadian Passenger ship lists with a James Wright, b. 1890 on Ancestry.com. Neither has any defining information though. Might be him, might not. The 1911 census has a Catherine McPhee living at 194 Main St. Govan with children Malcolm 11 and Catherine 12. Catherine is a widow ...
