Re: Watt Family in St Andrews, Fife

Hi
Just thinking that "Ferry-on-the-Port, Fife" is probably Ferryport-on-Craig, known as Tayport after the railway arrived.

Best wishes

Re: DC for James Craig

Hi Anniespangles Have you traced him through the census years e.g. where is he in 1871? Does he always give the same place of birth in each census year? What are his parents' names (on the marriage entry in 884)? The more information you can gather the more likely it is that you (or we!) will track ...

Re: Lost Ritchie's

If tracing the children each couple had, you should be able to narrow down the possible range of years for a...

Re: Mystery Lennox family member

Hi francois2015 And welcome to TalkingScot :D There is a marriage record for these names on ScotlandsPeople, but the date does not quite tally with what one might expect from the dates of birth of the children (twins?) you have given in 1892, so it may not be the correct couple: 1905 AITKEN DAVID LE...

Re: Military question?

Hi Dawn One of my great uncles had two separate service numbers; one for Highland Light Infantry and the other for the Royal Scots Fusiliers, so based on that you may find that there are several numbers. Have you tried the medal card index? All those who served should be mentioned there. Service num...
