The twin colour, red and white diced glengarries were worn not only by the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders but also by the 5th Bn. Pipe-Major Willie Lawrie (8th Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders) composed many excellent bagpipe tunes including one called ' Pipe-Major James Jackson, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders ''.
