Re: Some Interesting Reading Grave Matters.

Hi Sarah got a reply for your query. Not all of the articles in GM could be expanded into full profiles, what you get in GM is all there is. However other cases could be expanded. Re: Some Interesting Reading Grave Matters.

Hi Sarah

I'm glad you found them interesting.

I actually don't know if the articles are added to the profiles on the website but I shall ask someone who might know and get back to you on that one.

Some Interesting Reading Grave Matters.

As Some of you may know I've been helping The Friends of Glasgow Necropolis to transcribe their Burial Records. Re: Old Man's Asylum, Blackfriars, Glasgow.....

Thought that I might be able to add a small note of interest to this post for future or past readers. Currently helping to Transcribe the Burial records for the Glasgow Necropolis and one of the entries Lists Oldman's Asylum as the address. The Record is from 1857 so it looks like this establishment...

Re: Irish Widow In Scotland

From my (limited) experience if you keep plugging away at it they eventually pop back up, sometimes you just haven't thought of something, for instance Jane could have remarried and be under her new married name. The name change could also be because in Scotland you are allowed to use your maiden na...

Re: Irish Widow In Scotland

Hi Mixpal. Had a quick look. Mother Jane and Thomas Cowie are still appearing on the census for 1861. (she has an interesting looking job) she has reverted back to Cowie for a surname again. Couldn't find any death for Jane so possibly moved back to Ireland? They both disappear in 1871 (or i just ha...
