Not a military badge, it's the badge of the C.T.C. -- Cyclists Touring Club.
There is a large version of it on a building in Elgin at the corner of Academy Street and South Street
that was once the Grand Hotel.

Re: Married names
I have been indexing records for the 18th century for a long time now and married women in them are always referred to in their maiden names never with the husbands name e.g. Mary Smith spouse of or relict of David Jones. The only exception being where both had the same surname originally. Regards Jen

Re: Ellen 'Helen' Bain 1872–1954
I don't know if it would help but you should try
http://libindx.moray.gov.uk/mainmenu.asp
it's great for searching people from Moray & Banff, where I see from the place names
most of who you seem to be looking for are from and it's free to access.

Re: SP credits
Many years ago my son managed to get vouchers from S.P. as a gift for me I'm not exactly sure how he did it but I think he had to register with them as a retailer and buy a certain minimum quantity, I seem to remember something like £70 worth. It was such a hassle that anytime after he bought credit...

Re: Buckhaven Fishing Boat
There's a boat "Fisher Lass" listed on http://www.fishingboatheritage.com/ with the registration KY 1411( Kirkaldy)
but not a lot of information about it, gives an owner for 1889 as James Stevenson and the port of Cellardyke.

Re: Finding a Photo of a WWI Soldier?
Don't know if this is any use or if he is yours but there is a Thomas Brownlie listed in the CWGC for one of the dates given
and you can print off a commemorative certificate.
