McMeekins and Crawfords

I just found a post tonite that is 5 years old from member jimstallard. :? He posted: Hi Jean, hope you are still on this forum! My gggmother Jane Crawford of Ballyboley (Ballycor, not Larne), married John McMeekin of Cogry, on 28th January 1831, their son Hugh Crawford McMeekin, born 12 October 185...

Re: Merry Christmas 2017

It was a Merry Christmas in my corner of the world and it was snowy and now it is bitterly cold. All the better to hunker down and search for those missing rellies. :D Got a nifty new 27 inch flat screen monitor from santa so no excuses for not seeing them now \:D/ Hope you all have a happy hogmanay...

Re: TalkingScot Admin - Russell

So sorry to read of Russells passing. While never meeting in person I always had a good feeling about the persona that came through in his posts. Condolances to his family and those who knew him best! Have attended 2 funerals already this month and now this news. A genuine month of sorrows.

Re: John Stewart merchant seaman in the 1860's in Dundee

Hi Jaimie I may have cracked your wall but not sure it is all 100 percent accurate yet. I looked for Margaret and kids in the 1861, 1871, and 1881 census records to see where they were what they were calling themselves and who they were living with. I have viewed the birth records of Margaret in 186...

Re: Seasons Greetings to All on TS

Merry wishes to all from the northern tier of New England where my thermometer hit 60F yesterday. My poor irises are trying to sprout from the ground 4 months early. Santa was very good though and managed to get around without the white stuff this year. Cold and first snow is predicted for next week...

Re: Can anyone find HELEN SCOTT's birth record ?

Hi MacSmirkey I've had a look at a few records and tried to piece together a past for your Helen prior to her marriage in 1857. It seems that nothing quite matches 100% no matter how you look at it but here are my thoughts. You've done all the normal searching by parent names and found two couples b...

Re: Lost in New Zealand

I would consider that a happy ending! :) and I'm still smiling over the Genghis Khan reference :) =D> Malcolm I'm certain I would not consider my presense on TS large by any stretch but I do drop in from time to time and it was good to hear from you after all these years! Alan yes it has been...
