Help with Isabella Connor, born Edinburgh 1871.

The above, Isabella, was a younger sister of my gt grandfather, James Morrison, I believe. :? What puzzles me, is why Isabella was born as Isabella Connor( mother's maiden name ?). Iam first aware of Isabella, on the 1881 census. She is registered as Isabella Morrison. She is living with her father ...

How to uplad a photo to site.

I am just learning about storing, printing pics, etc. I have a few of the Glen Coe area that I would like to share.

How do I upload them, to the site?

Success! :D

Looking for information about Edinburgh City Poorhouse, 1871

I am interested in finding out more about the above, poorhouse. One of my gt grandfather's sisters, Isabella Connor,I believe, was born there 3rd July, 1871. I say believe, as my gt grandfather, James Morrison, born Edinburgh 1866, and each of his siblings, appear to have parents William and Ann, ma...

Hi David. Welcome onboard. Like yourself, I assumed that all marriages took place in church. it wasn't till I found my grandparents' marriage certificate, that I realised that they had married at my gran's home, Bellshill, 1926. However, looking back a generation, when my grandfather's parents marri...

Thanks Andrew. Had a wee look at the links you mentioned. (I really need to write all of these details in some order) I looked at the death of a Susan Connor, 0 yrs, Dundee, that was mentioned. Parents are given as William Connor, and Ann Connor, nee Reilly. Christian names are correct. But, unfortu...

Gt gt grandparent's marriage.William Morrison and Ann Connor

The marriage of my gt gt grandparents, is a bit of a conundrum. When my gt grandfather, James Morrison, was born 31st Jan.1866. On his birth certificate, his parent's marriage is given as '26th April 1865,Dundee. When daughter Alice Black Morrison, was born 13th December,1872, at South Cobinshaw, th...

Hi everyone. Like rob.mac, I came here after a recommendation from a fellow chatter, either through GR or Rootschat.

I am still finding my way around the site, and just came across your survey this morning.

I am happy to be aboard.

This is my first post/ reply. As my family come from Holytown, from 1840's it struck a note of interest. Having begun to look at my tree, I realise that certain names may have been mis-transcribed. Or, you may find that a 'certain' story, which you believe to be true, is infact, untrue. My great aun...
