I don't know about anybody else but I can still smell the underground. It was a very distinctive smell that I can't begin to describe. Those pictures brought it right back to me!

Soo, I live in England but my family live in Glasgow so can they buy a startup and top-up voucher on my behalf and e-mail the codes off the back of the card to me for my use? Even if I have to set up a new SP account to use them. I am after all doing the research on behalf of the whole family, not j...

Help in narrowing search

This forum has been fantastic in helping me to identify my GGG Grandfather James Robertson and his early demise in a fishing accident in Whitehills in 1839. I seem to have hit a brick though. I cannot find his death record on SP so don't have an age or approx year of birth. He never appeared on a ce...

Thanks for all the responses. To summerise, it would appear that SP does not allow (or is technically unable to make) changes to usernames. I will look at my browser settings again to see if it will remember my password, but not for my banking sites and other sites which may have "personal" informat...

Hi gordon, If you click the box next to "Log me on automatically after each visit" you won't have to log in each time you visit the site. It will remember your user name and password. Ina I don't see that box anywhere on the SP site Ina. Even after I have logged in, I don't see such a box anywhere....

Username Change

Hello all, not sure if this has been asked before, but does anyone know if it is possible to change your username on SP whilst retaining all your searches and images? When I first registered, I used my e-mail address as the username. This was a bad idea as it was a very long e-mail address and not v...

Many thanks for the recommendations, I have downloaded Family Historian and it looks like a very good tool to me. So much so that my daughter used it to create a four generation chart of the Tudors for her history homework with very little input from me. The charting features are excellent. They are...

Charting

Hello all, I'm looking for some reccomendations for a bit of software which will allow me to print my tree out on paper. Easy I hear you say. I'm sure I am not the only one who would like to show siblings and others not "directly connected" but who are nonetheless quite significant in my family hist...

My dad also worked in the Templetons factory on the night shift. I remember my mum making his "pieces" up, some of which consisted of a Flake or Frys cream bar mashed up between two slices of good old Scottish plain bread. Sometimes covered in sugar! I lived just up the road from there in Bridgeton ...
