Hi, I have Euphan in my family. Checking google, it seems it is short for Euphemia. All I wanted to know is if it was male or female. So, I guess it is female.

Re: Working class clothing?
I have never seen such wonderful pictures, a really good look at our past, seeing all those children at work. I would love to print these pictures off to make an album to show. Would I be allowed to do this? I can relate to the glass blowing, my hubby and I visited one of these factories in Venezuel...

Re: Future Genealogists
My father's middle name was "Taylor" after his mother's sir name. Makes much more sense than going by one's second name and confusing all kinds of things, like medical records, etc. I get really tired of explaining I go by my second name, what were they thinking! On the other hand, my husband's fami...

Re: It just takes time.
I am just so pleased to say that I have finally found the answer to Ellen Charlton who left a small inheritance to my mother. Ellen Peat, sister to Martha Hannah Peat and Robert Peat (their father John Peet) married Robert Scofield, and after the death of her sister Martha Hannah Peat and Martha's h...

Re: About 10 months of searching --
Oh, my goodness ! I am so excited, never, ever, did I think I would hear from family. I have all the court documents, birth certificates, etc. and much more regarding the murder of ggrandfather John Barclay Smith. I have a photograph of his gravestone, and everything. I also found the information on...

Re: tribal pages site and littering
Thank you Alan and Jen, your information was really helpful. I looks like my wish to scatter some of my son's ashes will not be nearly as complicated as I thought. When out walking with my walking partner the other day, I shared with her my plans and when finished I said to her she must think I am a...

tribal pages site and littering
A couple of days ago I was doing some research on my ggrandfather, Timothy Taylor. (Sidebar- I have a membership with LDS), and I was just looking for the sake of looking. I looked at one of their programs Tribal Pages. Well, I have briefly, very briefly looked into that site previously and decided ...

Re: It just takes time.
Thank you Alan. I have never dealt with anything so painful as the loss of our son. It was an accident that took him, he slipped on some snow that had rotten apples underneath, on the edge of a 20 foot bank. He was found the next morning. We are a very close family, and that does help. He left us tw...

Re: It just takes time.
It has been quite a while since I last checked in to TalkingScot., or anyting for that matter. My son passed away, and although I am still grieving, it is time to get back to the life that goes on. I am still trying to piece together the connection between George Brewer b. 1851 and Martha Hannah Pea...

Re: lost great grandmother!!!
This probably won't help, but I thought I should share how "normal" it is when things get wrong. I retrieved the birth certificate for my hubby's grandfather only to find that the mother's name on the birth certificate was different than we had. Giving it some thought, I realized we had the second w...
