Robertsons in 1861 and 1871 .....

Could some kind person please do a look-up for me? I'm trying to find where John Robertson , shawl weaver, and Helen Robertson, nee Barr, his wife, were in 1861 and 1871. They may have died before 1871..certainly both listed as dead in 1874, the year their son, James, married to Iasabella O'Hara, di...

Thank you both...that was most helpful. I am sure that the three stepchildren of the Whylie's are Iasabella's, formally Robertson, nee O'Hara's children. She was listed under the name Elizabeth on Samuel's marriage details so a case of flexible names...but this gives me another angle to trace her fu...

Robertsons in Paisley .....

I'm looking for James Robertson, married to Elizabeth O'Hara, married in Paisley (I think). Their son, Samuel was born in the town in 1865 and married Mary Gold in 1887. By this time, James was dead and Elizabeth had remarried, with the surname Whylie. In the 1881 census, at 89 High Street, Paisley,...

Hello, Marilyn,
I stay not too far from Johnstone....do you have any information about which church/churchyard the burial was in? Depending where it is, I could try to find it for you and send a picture. Graveyards in Johnstone are not always too safe, but if I can help, I will,

Francis McDougall .....

I am trying to find the birth of Francis McDougall, married to Agnes (also known as Elizabeth or Mary) Lightbody in 1840 in Donahadee, Co Down. On his marriage details it states he was born in 1821 in Paisley. He died before 1881, I think and the family ended up in Irvine, Ayrshire, via Dreghorn and...
