Hi Wilma, Yes, David died a month before the 1861 census unfortunately. I think I may have found him in the poor registers for Callander in 1860, its dated 22 Nov and mentions him as a widower. Hi Wilma, Yes, I found a marriage for a Hugh Gillespie on SP in Doune, Kilmadock, in Nov 1861 to Elizabeth McDonald which has a James Gillespie as a witness. The address given was Blackford for Hugh, and Doune for Elizabeth. It stated that Hugh's parents David & Mary McMillan were both deceased. I h...

Hi, Yes, I have tried looking for James in the 1861 census at Holmhead St. ( I've attached a pic of the address) not sure if it says 34 /2 or 34 & a half) but can't find anything.
