Help with reading 1851 Census Image please .....

Hopefully I have uploaded a census image of Ann Gilray/Gilroy to the gallery. Can you give me your thoughts on the birthplace of James and Ann. I thought she would have been born in Lasswade or Penicuick but I keep thinking it looks like Portugal !!!?? http://talkingscot.com/gallery/displayimage.php...

Thanks didn't realise that. Elexie Imirie married to someone else by then and then dies before Statutory Records so I know very little about her. Her name is Alexa/Alexandrina Crow and she marries John Glen.

Angus.....

Anyone have any idea what regiment someone might join in 1840's Angus. Alternatively what was the procedure to join the Navy?

1841 Census Angus .....

If someone has access to 1841 Census for Angus would it be possible to tell me the relationship of Elexie Imirie aged 20 to the rest of the household particularly Janet Crow aged 40. They are in the village of Balbirne in the parish of Ruthven. Thank you
