Re: Missing marriage index

Thanks all. I took a punt on the marriage of Patrick and Margaret 20th August 1855 then checked the birth of one of the children and it is them right enough. He is called Edward on all census records but it says Patrick in the groom's column. Father's name is given as Edward. I eventually fou...

Missing marriage index

I was over the moon to find a 1855 marriage, indexed at Find My Past, between Edward Farrell and Margaret Donnegan(and varients) at Edinburgh. When I go to view it at SP there is no such marriage indexed there. It would have been a Catholic marriage but no sign of it under the Catholic registers eit...

Re: DIVORCE RECORDS

Hello.

It depends when the divorce took place.

Scotlands People have online indexes from 1984 onwards which would indicate when and where.

You could also try searching http://catalogue.nrscotland.gov.uk/nrso ... lcome.aspx

Re: Pearce Carmidy USA

Thanks Anne and Sarah.

He is a friend's ancestor and, although it would have been nice to find more, she is really happy with what's been found so far.

Thanks again,
Annette

Re: Pearce Carmidy USA

Hi Sarah, Sorry about dates. Yes you are right about the family leaving in 1858. I had another look at the workhouse application and discovered a second page. Although Sarah was born around 1813 in Ohio she states her mother, Mary Fo(r?)ster is living at Charlotte, Michigan. Pearce was born a...
