Lesley,

Thanks for those two links - have enjoyed looking and reading about Limekilns. It's an area I have not visited......yet!

Elizabeth Harper

Just to let you all know. I have found her death in Limekilns (?) Dunfermline in 1875 aged 21.
Always makes me sad when I find an early death like this. The daughetrs of this family don't seem to have been as lucky as the sons.

Thanks both of you. I think you're probably right about the Fife one; I do have some evidence of her siblings in that area later.

Elizabeth Harper

David,

No death for an Elizabeth Harper between 1861 (when she appears at home on the census) and 1871.
Run out of credits for now but will follow your advice as you are right there aren't many EH deaths.
Thanks :)

Elizabeth Harper

First answer, no! However all the other 9 did so I'm guessing she might have too!

Elizabeth Harper.....

Hi Everyone, It's me again with my Harpers! What a headache they are! This time it's Elizabeth Harper born c1854 (no birth record) in Cleish to James and Hannah (Dobie) Harper. I can only find her on the 1861 census with the rest of her family in Cleish. After this I lose her! Since I don't where sh...

Andy,

I'm sure you're right. That does look likely to be David in St George but Agnes isn't with him. Another little mystery for me  :?:

Thanks for your help.

Harper and Buchanan

Andy,

Me again! Just re-reading your post I see you have James (father) as having died before 1890. In fact he died 5 November 1891.

Harper and Buchanan

Andy, Thanks very much for all that. I had the two census entries for 1881 thanks and the IGI info. And I will follow your advice on SP. However the marriage cert does say 50 so I was rather confused! I just thought it was odd that if you had TB you'd go to your brothers' home where there were sever...

Buchanan and Harper.....

Hoping someone can help me here please. I have an AGNES HARPER who married DAVID BUCHANAN in June 1890 St Cuthbert's Edinburgh. She was 29 (born July 1860) and he was 50 (lots of my females married late to older men, was this a social phenomenon of the times? sorry I digress!) She was a domestic ser...
