Do you mean the USA versionof Ancestry. I have just spent some time and money on SP with their new addition of 1841 census and delighted that I may have found a very elusive GGrandfather. To think how dubious we were that it would appear this month.

Welcome aboard Chrissy. I have problems with Irish records too but you might try a long shot with LDS, I did with two of mine and came up trumps with two marriages. I only used the man's name and got where when and who. Best of luck.

i agree with all the above having found the 1881 census cd invaluable.Don't know where you live but i purchased mine from the LDS in Erdington Birmingham and it cost less than £30 including postage.
