Intermittent access to Talkingscot

Post by paddyscar » Tue Dec 13, 2016 5:23 am

TalkingScot Administrators are aware of this problem and Andrew has been in touch with our hosts and reports the following:

"I am advised that our hosts are undergoing a DDoS attack, and have been for a while. This is affecting both the TS website and the TS e-mail. They are trying to mitigate, but access is troublesome. Access may be more limited from various geographical locations. They will keep me advised…

Quote from Wikipedia:

A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack occurs when multiple systems flood the bandwidth or resources of a targeted system, usually one or more web servers. Such an attack is often the result of multiple compromised systems (for example, a botnet) flooding the targeted system with traffic.

All the best,

Andrew"

Additionally, Andrew reported Monday evening:

"I am told that a fix has been put in place. Please use TS as normal and see how it works for you."

TS Administration Group will continue to work with our hosts to remedy the situation.

Every cloud...then Carol :D

I've found it a bit hit and miss, but all seems fine now.

I've had mine ready for a week, but haven't made it to the Post Office.

Happy Christmas!
