Obituaries in Edinburgh Evening News

Post by goldenboy » Sat Mar 11, 2017 8:22 pm

Can anyone tell me how to access an obituary in Edinburgh Evening News?

My great grandmother died in January 1963 and I would love to find her obituary.

Thank you

HI GoldenBoy,

I am not sure that you will find a 1963 obituary from the Edinburgh Evening News online. It may take a trip into the Edinburgh Central Library, where the Evening News archives can be found on microfilm.

All the best,

HI GoldenBoy,

In the Central Library, you can view the microfilms free of charge. You can pay a fee for a print from the microfilm; or you may be content to make your own notes from what you read. There is no taking photographs of the microfilm screen - I have seen someone threatened with being ejected from the library for that.
