Thanks, Falkryn. I am of course trying to get at why the partnership ended at this time. Perhaps it was simply the 'effluxion of time' (lovely phrase)...time ran out. It was just over 20 years, we think.

But there were some dubious things about the will, which I have....to wife Emma and her father, not to any of his other children - made two months before he died. Her father's business needed money to update. John left £3636, no house as it was part of the works.
His doctor backed out of being an executor, after he died. His wife was not at the funeral, although other women were.

Had there been some 'undue influence' going on, and was CBF Borron just making sure - not being aware what John's will (at any time) would say? - Alison
