Hi Mallog
Creamola Foam and the wee tin
Aww...wonderful stuff, that was. Raspberry was my favourite. Just loved making up a drink and it going all fizzy......... you could still get it when my kids were wee, but it has long since disappeared from the shop shelves now.

Best wishes
Lesley

   I shoplifted a tin of it from "Boyles" at the bottom of Mountblow RD & went into the toilets & filled the tin with tap water & drank it.It was my most unfav too Lemon.

Anybody remember "Japs health salts"? My Granny used to keep a tin for various tummy troubles.I discovered it was fairly palatable & fizzy so would have a glass or two as a treat.Only problem was it had a slight laxative effect!

All this talk of Creamola Foam brought up fond memories of it, it has been *years*. So I googled it and found this...

Rhubarb,rhubarb

If your rhubarb is going to seed it will benefit from being dug up, thinned out and replanted late in the year.
Thought you might like to know that.

Hi Malcolm,i'll get my neighbour to do that. She cut bits back the other wk,and used a good few sticks for a lovely crumble :) Ive already told her she can take the rhubarb,so shes as well digging it up,and while shes at it replanting it in her own garden,as my cat hides under huge leaves to try and catch birds!!
Come to think of it,he'll probably just move his lodgings along with it

As for Jaaps salts, hadnt bought them in yrs.Granddaughter wasnt feeling too good last wk so I asked shopkeeper what he had :? Only thing I have is Jaaps salt says he,and almost took my breath away, when he asked for £3-99p for it

Its still sitting here,as she wouldnt take it and felt better quite soon anyway

Roll up,Roll up, one tin of Jaaps for sale. One previous owner. Will sell half price. :D :D :D :D

Bring it to the beach party-fond memories of Jaaps salts!
I'll exchange it for a batch of home-made tattie scones.

It might be in great demand next weekend - after the Talking Scot Beach Party!

I don't remember Japs Salts but I do remember sunday nights dose of Syrup of Figs, foul stuff and you got it whether you needed it or not.
We had a neighbour who gave her children Milk of Magnesia for absolutely anything, if they skinned their knee, had a fever or a cold that is what they got.

Re rhubarb, I wish I had a decent plant or a neighbour who had one.
Mine is struggling along trying to survive, any good tips to help it along gratefully accepted.

Rhubarb would do instead of the Syrup of Figs.

Good idea bringing it to beach party :!:
Grandkids fair love their tattie scones :)

Wini,my rhubarb just grows in garden and gets completely ignored, till neighbour decide to use it!Wer'e here 28yrs and I dont know how long rhubarb was before then!
Its at bottom of garden, that gets sun from morning till night,so maybe thats the secret!

Now I can bring both Rhubarb and Jaaps, but hopefully theres plenty FACILITIES about
