It was intersting seeing Wilma mentioning Watt Bros.
This is the only large department store in Glasgow that I know, still owned by the family, and one of the best and cheapest places to shop in toon.

Hi all,My mother's divi number was 24669 at Paisley Co-op.My mother -in-law's was 1157.Funny enough i can't remember my own very well, it was something like 5311.I was busy working and didn't spend too much time shopping at co-op. I remember as a small child being on holiday at rellies house in Saltcoats.The shops were almost next to where we were staying,so if mum sent me to co-op for something she would always say"don't forget to say PY after 24669' so i'll still get my divi on it" PY of course being short for Paisley Where do you think my first job on leaving school was Yes,co-op dairy in Paisley. Sometimes when men were sent a message,they couldn't remember their wives number so they would say "just put down your own"and walk out without their wee ticket. Just as well he wasn't going home to face my Mum We didn't have machine that catapulted money up to cash desk though,it was only in bigger grocers next door.Oh aye,whit memories By the way,lady who was my manageress,ended up being my mum-in-law.I always say i met my hubby in the co-op,and that was my divi Cheers Nancy
