Mesklin.....

Post by Guest » Fri Aug 19, 2005 11:49 am

When TalkingScot was first mooted as a replacement for the defunct Scotlands People Discussion Group, I had a vision that it could become something greater. Not just a chat page for genealogy, but a reflection of what it means to be 'of Scotland'.

The task was difficult, the obstacles immense. But with a little humour and the contribution of so many people, each in their own way, TalkingScot was born. It was a time to take risks, and a time for action. Not sitting and bemoaning loss.

It came to a time, in recent days, when it seemed that my vision diverged from that of others. Rather than cause dispute, it was better to go my own way. TalkingScot will adapt. And I will have the time to follow my own star.

It is again, a time to take risks, and a time for action. Not sitting and bemoaning loss.

I wish you well.

Mesklin.

Gone now. But davesloan is still a member. And with a guid Scots tongue in his heid!

Hello Dave,

sorry to hear of your "artistic differences". To me, you represented the honest, fair, steady, and ever-present face of TS. You will be sadly missed.

Sitting here in front of my computer, I feel like "havin' a guid greet".

A time for actiion? Yes, but all losses must be mourned, if the action envisaged is to succeed.

Bye bye, Mesklin. Welcome to TS, Dave Sloan.
