I just tripped over it on an obscure ish Website. Last week. And Talking Scots is better than any forum or message board I've been involved in. Why ?
1. Security is great. Password & entry.
2. Communication is good. People don't covet other member info by diverting to private email only. Mesage board / forums are not hi-jacked by over concerned ""Family"" interests. For example the MUIR board at Genealogy.com. Outrageous abuse there.
3. Information is verifiable and documents are accountable.

I think I found a mention of TS on the Genes Reunited website and I've not looked back since joining.
Have mentioned it to a couple o my (distant) cousins and my cousin Deborah (Alienore) has also joined.
It's lovely here, everyone is so helpful and friendly and it's great to, on the odd occasion, be able to give something back.
Thanks to all for the help & good times so far.

Link to TalkingScot?
Scotland's People has discontinued its forum, but I wondered if that website could be persuaded to provide a link to TalkingScot? This would help people who are sorry that Scotlands People has given up on their own forum, and give them a chance to find you.
(If there already is a link, please forgive me..but I have never seen one.)
Ellen.
