Ancestry - London Parish Records

Hello All,

Ancestry have just posted another batch of parish records from the London Metropolitan archives online:

Marriages and Banns, 1754-1921
Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1538-1812

The latter isn't indexed, and having quickly looked through the Marriages & Banns I notice that for a great many of the images the pages are heavily cropped so that you might only get a small piece of the actual image, which is rather frustrating if the info you want is on the right hand side, or bottom of the page. I guess this might just be a teething issue?

Interesting all the same...

Hi Scooter

I just found a rellies's marriage - but couldn't see the part of the image with the marriage either ! . But I was using Chrome which doesn't work with Ancestry's "Enhanced Image Viewer" . I switched to Firefox , for which I have managed to install Enhanced Image Viewer and now I can .

Aha, is that the trick? I'm using Safari so will switch over to Firefox.

This is the only entry that I could see that had Amelia marrying before she turned 40!

No mention of a father's name that I saw.

The Baptisms, Marriages and Burials are taken from 10,000 parish registers of the Church of England in the greater London area. They aren't indexed, but if you have an idea of the name of the church she might have been baptized in, then I can look for that church and her name in it's listings.

I don't think that is her she married on 3 November 1831 in Liverpool.

In all censuses she gives plave of birth only as London
