Is there a register that is free to look at which teachers taught at what school. I am told that my cousins daughter taught at my ex school in Sheffield. Would love to know if this is true for the family tree.

I think you may have difficulty finding that sort of information on-line.
Given the privacy and safety precautions around anything child related, and indeed the safety concerns for the teachers themselves.
However, the obvious route would be to, quite simply ask.
Either the pupil or potential teacher personally, or go direct to the school in question and inquire if Mr/Miss X was on the staff in the relevant time period.
or visit the school website and see if there is a list of staff members mentioned.
