My Mother was Catherine Boyd McDonald(nee) Mom married John Henry Durrant in London, England 1954. The children are Kathleen Rebecca, Kymboyd (me) and John Robert. Kaye and John are still in England, I live in the USA. Mom died in London, England 1966.
Her family live in Glasgow. Her brother was Hugh McDonald, who married Molly. My cousins are Hugh, Robert and Mary. I think Hugh and Robert emergrated to Canada and Austrailia. Mary may have married Neil. My cousins will be in their 50's and 60's.
Hugh and robert would always visit for the England V Scotland football games.
I also had an Aunt (or Great Aunt?) Rebecca, who's son was John.
A needle in a haystack, maybe! But you have to love the web:)
Thanks for your time.

Do you have any locations in Glasgow? Any clue to your Grandparents-names,birthplace,occupations?
Sometimes it easier to trace the more distant past then the nearest past.
Good hunting & hope your cousins get in touch.

Maybe my cousins remember the Red Lion Pub in Greenford, Middx
Trying to get a birth cert. for Mom, then at least I will have a place to start.
Thanks for your time.

Hi Charlie66
Maybe the place to start is with English records for your mother's marriage
, but with a father's name it should be a bit easier.
Best wishes

The marriage cert. should give her father's name and an age at time of marriage and maybe from there you might be able to trace her birth in Scotland. Not an easy task with the surname McDonaldMy Mother was Catherine Boyd McDonald(nee) Mom married John Henry Durrant in London, England 1954.
Best wishes
