Any suggestions on how I can find out where my GrUncle is buried? I now have his DC and know he died at Royal Victoria Hospital in Folkestone...registration district of Elham on 24 Dec 1936. No other family in or from Kent but Robert John McMeekin had been stationed there during WW1 and apparently returned after his wife's death in Canada in 1934. From his Canadian obit I know he was buried in Folkestone....but where??? and does he have an MI??? I emailed the Folkestone Historical Society but never got a response. Hellooooo....anyone around here from Kent????
Here's hoping
Jean

Just an update.....did get an email from the nice secretary of the Folkestone FHS and they had made some inquiries for me. Found a death notice in the local newspaper indictating there must have been a local contact at the time. They don't do research but directed me to the Shepway District Council and suggested I look on their website for contact details for the Cheriton Road & Hawkinge Cemetery records .
www.shepway.gov.uk .
Fingers crossed once again!
