Hi Thomsos

Found on http://freebmd.rootsweb.com

Births Sep 1904
Huddleston George William - Bridlington 9d 391

The district Bridlington is in the county of East Riding of Yorkshire

Does this sound like your man ?
Scotland - Donaldson / Moggach / Shaw / Geddes / Sim / Gray / Mackie / Richards / Joel / Coull / Mckimmie / Panton / McGregor
Ireland and Scotland - Casey / McDade / Phillips / McCandle / Dinely / Comaskey + various spellings

The 1901 census has a fair few Huddlestons in Flamborough, a village in the district of Bridlington.

These caught my eye as being about the right age for George's parents :

John age 37 Head Farm Labourer
Maud M age 32 Wife
Oswald C age 9 Son
Edith A age 7 daur
Clifford age 4 Son
Robert age 3 Son
Arthur age 2 Son
Richard age 82 Father

All born Flamborough except Maud who was born in Tadcaster and Richard the father who was born in Market Weighton (also in East Yorkshire)

Ring any bells?

Best wishes

Tracey,
It could be, but the fact is the only sure thing I know is the he was English, in the navy, based at Portsmouth and he married Catherine Fairley

Hi Tomoso,

I found a George W Huddleston married Mary C Fairley in Portsmouth 1930 Oct-Dec 2b 1430.

Maybe she went by her middle name - i have a few in my tree that have done that.

Good Luck
