1901 Census ENGLAND .....

Post by momat » Fri Jan 12, 2007 10:30 am

Does anyone have access to the 1901 Census for England. I am seeking a James McNaught and wife Martha .
A search for the 1901 Census brings up a James McNaught in WILLESDEN MIDDLESEX aged 43 Occupation Baker. Born in Scotland.
All this fits in with original Birth and occupation but Martha is not on the 1901 census.
I have found them on the 1891 census in St Pancras London .

Cheers,
Maureen

The James McNaught ( indexed by Ancestry as Mc Haught) at Willesden in 1901 has a wife Mary Ann aged 43 born Herts, Wheathampstead and is living at 72 Carlton Vale, Kilburn.

Can't see any likely candidates for Martha - is it is possible she died and James remarried ?

Cheers

Hi Sally,

I think it is most likely the correct one.
Martha/Mary Ann could be a transcript error.
Hopefully I will be able to find more on them now.
Many thanks ,

Cheers,
Maureen
