If you go to www.ancestry.co.uk you can search through the marriage indexes. Tedious, but the only way to find an English marriage for those years online.

Main family lines are Harpers from Midlothian, Fife & Kinross-shire, and Dobies/Dobbies from Midlothian. Also Strathearn, Stobie, Layden and Downie.

Hello Joyce,
As Meg said you do need to go onto Ancestry but it is the Full BMD list that you want.
I'd personlly search on Groveham, that seems the more unusual name then cross reference it when you think you've found an appropriate match.
If you are not sure of an exact year put in 1950 with +/- 5 years on either side. It does mean you will have 40 records to check (at least 4 per year, one for each quarter depending on how popular the name is).
I'd grab a few biscuits or a glass of wine & settle down for the duration......tedious but necessary I'm afraid.
Good luck.
