im not sure if i asked this before but i cant find out were my grandmother was born,i have her marriage cert ,death cert,and childrens birth certs,but still cant find her,it says on the 1901 cenusus age 31 manchester but the lead i had was she was with her two sisters living with the grandfather who cme from epworth lincolnshire
his namw was
william bassindale and my g.mother was ada mary mellor,maiden name bassindale its realy bugging me that i cant find her and its not that i havent looked lots of people have tried and nothing

but just found this

so does that mean that elizabeth remarried,the onlt different is elizabeths fathers name on liverpool hes robert and the other is william

On Free BMD you will find 2 entries for Ada Bassindale for Thorpe in Linc.
Births Mar 1865
Bassindale Ada Thorne 9c 566

Births Jun 1889
Bassindale Ada Thorne 9c 757

If she is 31 on the 1901 census then perhaps the 1865 birth is your Ada.There are 2 other entries for an Ada but they are for 1883 and 1893 and not in the Lincs area.

on her marriage cert she was 24 and that was in 1893,have got the cert of ada 1865 in wroot the only different is she has no middle name my nan has ada mary,and the fathers are not the same on my nans marriage cert its got john and on the other its robert
