Does anyone have access to 1901 Census England .....

Post by Linda Malpass » Mon May 21, 2007 9:56 pm

I have found on BMD England, a Susan Muir McCracken, born 1896 in Tynemouth ... I am interested in this as most of my McCracken ancestors from Scotland had the middle name MUIR
Her father could be William McCracken born in Scotland, 1861 and mother Margaret also born in Scotland, 1871 ... last count was 1891 census in Scotland, they had a son John McCracken, born 1891 in New Cumnock, Scotland, have not been able to find them in Scotland for 1901 census

If anyone has access to the 1901 English census I would be most interested to see this 1901 census with Susan Muir McCracken and her parents

Hi Tom, thank you for this look up, I am quite certain that this is the right family, although father William should be 40yrs not 30yrs, he did lie alot on his age though   Wife, Margaret is pretty close, she was born in 1871 New Cumnock ....

John's birth adds up, he was just born in New Cumnock 1891, then I lost track of them, William made the trip back to New Cumnock, Scotland in 1897 to be the informant on his mothers death certificate, Susan McCracken, ms Muir ....

I have replied to your private message and thank you again for your prompt response to my message and sending me the copy of the census
