MOORE - Liverpool .....

Post by snowwhite77 » Fri Jun 03, 2005 7:54 pm

Looking for the death record for James MOORE born 1817 Isle of Man. Married in LIverpol 1846 to Sarah MILLER. 2 sons James & William.

I have the family on 1851 census in Liverpool. On 1861 census, Sarah is living with children and lodger and noted as widow. Still Liverpool.

The only other deatils of James i have is his fathers name was also James, occupation Wheelwight,
(James jnr was a dock gate man).

Can anybody help me with this one?

Regards
Amanda

Hullo Amanda

It's over a year since you posted your query. Perhaps this time around someone may have some help to offer. Or perhaps you've already found answers elsewhere. I hope so.

Best wishes

Catriona

Hi Amanda,

I took a look at the years between 1851 and 1861 to see just how many James Moores there were that passed away in liverpool and - i lost count.

Did he by any chance have a middle name - it could narrow down the search.

Snowwhite - hope you read your replies after all this time. Can't help with the death of James - as Ina says there are a fair few, but this looks like James in the 1841 census before he married Sarah. Doesn't help with the death but if it's him, at least there are some other family members noted. There were only two James Moore's born in Isle of Man and living in Liverpool -both in this family. Unfortunately I can't read the occupations, but if you read this and think it's a possibility I'll post the image in the gallery.

Name Est Birth Year Birthplace Civil Parish

James Moore abt 1801 Isle of Man Liverpool
James Moore abt 1821 Isle of Man Liverpool
Margrat Moore abt 1801 Isle of Man Liverpool
Margrat Moore abt 1821 Isle of Man Liverpool
Mary Moore abt 1828 Lancashire Liverpool
Thomas Moore abt 1827 Lancashire Liverpool
William Moore abt 1834 Lancashire Liverpool

Hope this is of some use.

Best wishes

Thanks for the replies.

Sorry I haven't seen them any sooner, I have been having a little break from my research. Hit a few brick walls, and thought I needed to have a rest and go back with some fresh eyes (and hopefully more info available too).

Thanks for al the help given.
James unfortunately didn't have a middle name to go with his extremely common name. This is the same trouble I am having with another line where I have a James BELL. At least it isn;t John Smith I spose!!

I will add the info from 1841 census to my notes.
Thanks so much for this, it certainly appears to be the right family.

Your reply, could very well be the removal of the first brick, of my wall!!

many thanks again!
