Hi All,
Running out of ideas on trying too find Grand mother & G/Grand parents as i said earlier. So i thought i would try a search on Ancestry too see if they had anything on Hannah McLuskey Slaven in 1911 births.
Guess What ?... Got a match, i think ?
Name: Hannah M Slevin
Year of Reg. : 1911
Qrt of Reg. : Apr - May - June.
District : Manchester ( 1837 - 1924 )
County : Lancashire
Used mothers maiden name of Kelly in search.
Not 100% sure it is her yet, but it would explain the lack of records of birth in Scotland & Ireland for her.
Anybody any idea if the site gives the name of the father.
Not too keen on joining Ancestry for details on one ancestor, but i think it has a pay as you view method. Probably do this. Might find also that Patrick died down there too, reason for no records in Scotland.
Could kill 2 birds with 1 stone as they say.
Do they give out birth details after 1908 ?

Hi Rob
Apart from the chance that the family may appear on the 1911 English Census (which is not on Ancestry) Ancestry will not give you the father's name. To find that out, along with any other details in the original entry, you need the reference for the event (e.g. Manchester 6c 145) to order the certificate from the GRO - if you have the ref it will cost £7.
http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

You may be able to find the ref. on free BMD - yes it is there:
Births Jun 1911
Slevin Hannah M Manchester 8d 181

or you can find the ref number on Ancestry too.

Best wishes
Lesley

Oooooh! Too bad you found her in England instead of Scotland. The English records will drive you as crazy as the Irish ones!

However, I have ordered 3 certificates from the Gros now and they are very quick. I ordered on line and had each of them here in the US within ten days!

Hello all,

On the 1911 census which was taken on 2nd April all these people appear to be in the same household in Manchester. (Place of birth isn’t shown) http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/tnaform.aspx?5

MCCULLOUGH, JAMES, M, 1852, 59, Manchester, Lancashire
MCCULLOUGH, MARY ANN, F, 1854, 57, Manchester, Lancashire
SLEVIN, JAMES, M, 1882, 29, Manchester, Lancashire
SLEVIN, ALICE, F, 1882, 29, Manchester, Lancashire
SLEVIN, JAMES, M, 1903, 8, Manchester, Lancashire
SLEVIN, SARAH, F, 1906, 5, Manchester, Lancashire
SLEVIN, ELIZABETH ANN, F, 1911, 1 MONTH, Manchester, Lancashire
SLEVIN, HANNAH MARY, F, 1911, 1 MONTH, Manchester, Lancashire

Elizabeth’s age is probably a transcription error. FreeBMD has a 1908 birth for her and there’s another child born 1916, mother’s maiden name McCullogh. This Hannah Mary Slevin looks like the 1911 birth on FreeBMD and the June quarter registration wouldn’t be too inconsistent with the age.

Hi All,
Think the Hannah in the 1911 census is not the same one, as for that Hannah it comes up as being from 1916 - 2005 records, probably out by month or so.
The Hannah i was looking at is the same one as mentioned by Lesley, also took a note of the record number.
Just got too send away for it now, and fingers crossed it's who i'm looking for.
Can't quite understand how ended up in Manchester?
After marrying and having child in Ireland in 1901.Then came over too Lanarkshire, Scotland between 1901 & 1903 where they had 2nd child.
Dissappeared off radar until the mother died in 1925 in Lanarkshire, listed as a widow.
So father Patrick died somewhere between 1911 & 1925.
Oh well, will know in 7 - 10 days if i've found one part of puzzle.
Thanks again too all for your help & assistance.
