Hi Frances,
Looks like they are at 56 Baird's Sq, Holytown, Lanarkshire in 1901. Francis is 16.

All the best,
Sarah

Hi Brian,

That would be great.

Francis died 25th August 1893 aged 44 years as the result of an accident in the Clydesdale Iron & Steel Works. He was crushed between the buffers of two railway waggons :( ..

Incident was referred to the Procurator Fiscal's Office.

Thanks for offering to look into this.

Regards

Frances :)

Hi Lesley,

I've just spent a bit of time searching the Scotsman Archive and the Glasgow Herald [19th Century Newspapers] and, unfortunately, I haven't been able to turn up any information about Francis' accident. The 25th was a Friday and it might be the case that other news over the weekend affected what was reported on the Monday.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
