Hullo Marilyn,

As you say the MORNINGs are rare. This family in the 1841 Census for Abbey, Paisley might interest you.

Census Place and address Thorn.
John 25yrs Weaver b. Renfrewshire
Jean 20yrs b. Scotland
David 1yr b. Renfrewshire

Happy searching

Catriona

Jack, Andy and Catriona

Allow me to express my great appreciation for all this additional information you've provided me with. Yes, they are indeed all
connected to my Morning family. Many thanks!

Jack, I dropped my eyeglasses on the sidewalk, while shoveling snow during our last blizzard, which dropped 22 inches of snow. Yes, they broke in two. Wearing an old pair until next week. Wish you well with
your Irish research. If you can give me a date of the couple you're looking for in Ireland, I'll ask my cousin if she could take a quick peek

Andy, I'll put all this information to good use soon, Thanks so much!

Catriona, did not have this information yet, Thanks a bunch!

Regards
Marilyn

Hi Marilyn,

It might have been cheaper to get someone else to shovel the snow - new specs ain't cheap (personally i think it's a rip-off for a couple bits of glass).

Thanks for the kind offer. But please leave it just now as i haven't a clue whereabouts in Ireland Hugh & Jean came came from - it's rather early too as their son Robert (my GG-GF) was born abt 1795. Doesn't help when i've seen the name as Shinnan as well.

Hi Catriona, i do hope you won't mind me mentioning this - i think it was in 1841 that John, Jean & wee David were at Thorn Village....

Yes, Jack, you're right..........a slip of the tongue or keyboard.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I'll edit my entry.

Have a good day
Catriona

Hi Andy,

Thank you for bringing Alan W. Davidson to my attention. Alan is the long distant cousin, which I mentioned on an earlier thread here on TS.
He has joined efforts in the pursuit of the Morning family on behalf of his
wife, a great granddaugher of John Morning. John Morning is the older brother
to my great geat grandfather, Matthew Morning. Matthew left Scotland for the US in 1883 and John lived and died in Scotland. Thought this might explain our connection. Appreciate you riding "shot gun."

Regards
Marilyn
