Hi Liz, I would be interested in coming to your meeting. 3 of my grandparents have Irish roots. Moorcroft/Muircroft, Moffat in Keady,Armagh. Farrell, Rowley, Burns in Wicklow. and Montgomery,Finlay,Mclement,Clarke,Cowden in Conlig Cty Down. Have been across there twice, Found out some info but a lot of unanswered questions.

Joe.

Hi there Joe

I see you've only made a couple of posts, so welcome to TS!

The folks on the site are very helpful and so you'll be made very welcome.

I'm glad that you're interested in the proposed seminar - I hope to be posting more details about it in December.

Cheers!

Hi

Can I come to the party too? Found out most of my tribe hail from Ireland and don't know where to begin.

Seminar: Help to begin the search for your Irish relatives

Post by Liz Turner » Wed Jan 17, 2007 9:17 pm

Dear All

I've been trying to keep you up to date with plans for this event. (See the updates on the original post).

Subject to a few final arrangements, the day will be going ahead on Saturday 10th March 2007.

I've got a room booked at Glasgow University (maximum number of attendees is 80 (!!!) - there are 22 notes of interest thus far, so we should have plenty room to spread out...

There will be a small charge per head to cover the cost of the room, but both the presenters (and me) are free of charge .... The room is booked from 09:00 to 16:00 but that's just in case folks want to sit on and chat after the event finishes, because we don't get the chance to meet up that often.

Keep an eye on on TS over the next few days for the final details and the programme for the day. Information about tickets will also be posted.

I will PM the people who offered to contribute their experiences to the day. I hope that all of you who manage to come along will find it useful. We hope to be able to email copies of the presentation to those who can't make it (Marilyn!! and those of you who are too far away to join us).

Cheers for now!

Liz

PS - bring along your queries and we'll try and give you some ideas of where to go next

Hello Liz,

I'm disappointed I can't join all of you but would be very interested in receiving any notes and/or materials you may have. Would you let me know the cost please...I'll be more than happy to contribute?

Good luck on the big day :)

Regards,
Anne H

I'm really hoping I can manage to get up there for this. My Irish research is at a dead stop right now :?

If I can't be there though, I too would like to receive any notes, etc...

Let me know the costs.

Hi Liz

Was really looking forward to this event but as luck would have it I already have a committment that day which I can't change.

Like others I will be happy to pay for any notes etc, which may be around after the event.

I'm sure it will be a good day.

Regards
