Hi,

I have only ever done the Irish Records as i am determined to be able to find out more of my irish Rellies! (even if it doesn't really tell much on the indexes).
I do try and get the marriages or births but it always ends up giving me the deaths :(
One thing - it does help you brush up on your irish towns and villages Ballymoney, Ballymena, ballyhoo!!

Also the more people indexed the more easier it should be to find rellies eventually (i hope).
I have tracked my hubby's ancestors to Kilkenny and Sligo so if i can find where mine's are from we will have a good holiday one day!
Keep up the good work.

Just thought everyone might be interested to know that you can now search through some of this transcribed data, though the Irish stuff isn't available yet. This is a quote from their site:

The data and images collected through FamilySearch indexing are available online at Record Search. Go to: search.labs.familysearch.org to search the collection.

Hope this encourages everyone to continue and that you find some missing rellies along the way too :D

Kind regards
Barb

Hi Julie:

Your could try a strip of coloured cellophane across your screen to keep your eyes straight across one line. If it won't stick with just the static from your monitor, rub it in your hair and voila! just like sticking a balloon to the wall

Just joined up and happy to give back a little to the 'genealogy pool' . I was lucky though... had two fantastically easy censuses to do first but then downloaded my third batch which is mostly scrawl! Oh well, I have a week to do it.

Thanks for the link scotmum!

Anyone else having trouble logging in? Suddenly I am getting a "Name or Password incorrect" warning! :? I can still work offline if I want to, but then I would need some downloaded records to do that!

EDIT: Oh never mind....it says the aplication is offline! :?

Is anyone else getting a Security Warning when starting this application:

The Applications Digital Signature Has An Error. Do You Want To Run The Application?

Apparently the certificate expired on the 25 July 2008. What does it mean?

Hello John,

I’m not too sure what’s happening there but I wouldn’t be too concerned about it. If the application referred to is the one you downloaded from LDS and which is used to download/upload information and/or images, you probably have the latest version. If the application still works okay the way it always did the fact that it may have an out of date signature shouldn’t matter too much. If you downloaded your version a long, long time ago maybe you could uninstall it and get a fresh download.

But it could be something to do with another program operating with the LDS one. Maybe it’s Java, the latest version for XP and Vista is Java 6 Update 7. If you’re using an old version of Java maybe the signature has expired on that or something. You can check your current version number by going to start menu/settings/control panel/add remove programs and it’ll be in the list. If yours wasn’t updated by Windows Updates you can get the latest here http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

I think there may be provision on those particular warning notices to opt not to see them again. You could tick the box, if there is one, if you can’t fix the problem and they are becoming annoying.

Hi Curry,

Thanks for that explanation. I have been getting these messages and have been a bit wary of going forward.
