Ballygallough .....

Post by JustJean » Wed Nov 02, 2005 2:37 am

I've just uncovered a place of birth for a William McNeilly that is listed as Ballygallough, Antrim. My 1932 Bartholomew's doesn't seem to know this one....multimap just says [-( ....and a google throws up a handful of references that seem to prove it did exist and was likely part of or very near Ballyclare.....but I want more!! :!:

Any ideas just where was Ballygallough?....and whatever became of it?

Thanks
Jean

Hi Jean, I think it's probably Ballygallagh, see links

In 1862, at time of G.V. for this townland, a Joseph Mcneilly was in residence. Will send details if you think he's yours.

Thanks Ian...that was certainly easy! :D As for Joseph being "mine"...I honestly can't say yet as the jury is still out on William  ....but will keep him in mind.

Thanks again...

Jean
