I have just found an Irish Marriage within my ancestors. Can anyone obtain any info on the following people?
Leitch Family
21 MAR 1884, Smithsborough, Count Monaghan.
William Leitch and Sarah Jane Pollock
How would I go about finding details on these people? Or is there anyone kind enough out there to have a look for me?
Thanks
Irish Marriage .....

If you have that many details it should be a breeze.
Go to http://www.groireland.ie/apply_for_a_cert.htm and order online (well download the form and send)

Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.

Not always a breeze I'm afraid. I had a date of Birth taken from other records - sent off for it - waited ages because they are very busy and never got it. For some reason it wasn't there. I was really disappointed.

Hi Pandabean,
Just noticed your post while wandering through the "Ireland" category. I don't know if you have managed to sort it out yet, but here's my story.
I have an ancestor who married an Irish girl in Antrim in 1845 and was having a lot of trouble finding out further details.
While jumping around sites found using Google trying to find a potential source I came across http://www.ancestryireland.com
Popped in my ancestor's name, year range and county and got a hit!
The search is free, but they do charge £5 which allows you to view the full details of up to 5 from the list of potentials that they find.
Mine gave both parties names, ages, street/townland of residence, religious denomination, batchelor or spinster (or other), occupation, where married and by whom. The witnesses are also named. It also has entry places for parents of each party, but mine only had their father's names and their occupations, so I'm still in the dark about her mother's name.
It might be worth giving that site a try.

Just decided to cehck up on this thread and noticed your post emanday and I checked the site. There were 4 found in total for a William Leitch but the area and dates dont match.
What area is County Monaghan in?
Is there any other way to check?
Edit: Ok found Monaghan is in N. Ireland but on the south border. Although I cant work out where Smithsborough is.

Did a wee bit of googling and found these...
http://ahd.exis.net/monaghan/parishes-other.htm
This is a description of the area in which Smithsborough is. Use Edit, Find on page to go to the section. It's mentioned three times.
Also, at the top of the page is another link...
http://www.clogherdiocese.ie/parishes/index.html
Had a look on there and found this address. He might be able to help you?
Very Rev Canon Gerard McGreevy, Magherarney, Smithboro, Co. Monaghan PH 047-81642
I got my GGG Grandmother's baptismal record from the vicar at the parish she came from.
Good Luck.
