Hoping to do some research in Ireland very soon, but having difficulty finding Lombard St on map. Probably looking but not seeing. Am trying to arrange accommodation nearby. Have still to book ferry and accommo. Can anyone suggest map online, or landmarks to help
An early answer would be appreciated.

Anne,
Anywhere in the centre of town and you are within a 10 minutes walk.
If you are doing research have as much information as possible before hand and you will need some considerable amount of time and cash.
For every likely record you've got to pay for a photocopy so you need to be sure or you end up with a lot of records that are not yours. If its busy you need to wait to be served, then wait for the photocopying.
It's been a few years since I was over but I don't think it will have changed much.
The records do not have a lot of information on them either and of course you still have to decipher the handwriting.
