Telford's in Ireland - Tedford's in Scotland.....

Hi,

Can anyone out there help me ?

I'm trying to find info relating to a couple of relative's on my mum's side who come from Ireland. George Telford (Farmer) & Abigail Telford nee Benson, their son Stephen who married Mary McNeill on 26th Nov 1868 in Partick, Glasgow. They were presbyterian's.

Any advice ?

Hi Daryl, You've probably got Stephens 1881 census at no. 22 , but do you see an entry for no. 33? I wonder if it would be worthwhile, if you've not already got them, to look for Davids marriage and later census entries?

George Telford or Tedford was not a common name in Ireland at time of G.V. (or Benson, Bennison) and there is a townland match for a George Telford and Benson surnames in Derrykeeran, Parish of Tartaraghan, Co. Armagh. There are other Telfords and Bensons in this Parish but this is the only townland match. There is also a parish of Drumcree match with these surnames, but not in the same townland.
