IRISH RESEARCH .....

Post by Alice Bradford » Sun Aug 13, 2006 6:54 pm

Years ago I did research on my Hamill, Hamilton line and made copies of land records involving Patrick Hamill and Patrick Hamilton. His wife was Mary McKinnly. The one that interests me the most is A Memorial of an ? of assignment bearing date 20 June 1846. It was made between Mary Hamill of Cloughfern in Co. of Antrim widow of the late Patk Hamill of Cloughfern aforesaid farmer dec. The property is in the parish of Carnmoney, Barony of Belfast, County of Antrim, Townland of Whiteabbey.

Can someone tell me what to do next in order to find out if this is my ancestor? His son Peter Hammil or Hamilton was born in Ballymena, Antrim Co. Ireland 1801 or 02 and died in Dundee, Scotland 1836.

Thanks for your help,
Alice

Dear Alice

I'm not really sure how you would progress. I'm only just beginning my own research in Ireland. I don't know how much searching you've already done, but you might find some leads from this site:--

Cheers!
