Hello I'm looking for any information on Florence ferch Jones, she arrived to America(Philadelphia) on Nov 1683,from Wales.Florence was aboard the Morning Star, she was kins woman to a john Bevan, believed to be her brother.I'm looking if there is any information confirming, that indeed they were siblings. Thank you Stephen

Hello Stephen,
Is this the Florence Jones who was a Quaker and married Lewis David in 1690? Or another one...

Best wishes,
Sarah

They were my 7th great grandparents :) I'll see what I have on them as well as Bevan. It rings a bell, but a very distant one, I'm afraid! Probably just tinnitus

I descend from their daughter Mary, who married William Eyre. That would make us 8th cousins once removed...

How cool is that cuz, I believe Florence ferch Jones and John(Ab Evan) Bevan were siblings. The Welsh would break down names, such as John (Ab) Evan, shorten to Bevan (John son of Evan) or Florence ferch Jones(Florence daughter of John) Jones could have got shorten to John. I believe the father was Evan Ab John(1608-1665) Mother Jane ferch Richrad(1614-1710).Florence and Lewis 1st born was John David(Davis) I believe their 1st son was name after her father Evan Ab John or her grandfather John Ab Evan(1585-1630), I curious if Mary had any sons and if so were any John? I have Lewis David 's father as Lewis David(1646-1708) married to Susan David(1644-1681) I cant find anymore on the Lewis branch. :D :D :D

I looked through the Monthly Meeting of Pembroke records a few months ago and found a few things, including the death of Susanna(h) before Lewis Sr came over to PA. Have you seen those?
