Hi All

My John married Elizabeth Hopkins,(parents Richard and Mary ?) of Oswestry, Shropshire..known children were Elizabeth?born 1835 Dudleston and Margaret born 1832 Oswestry but appears to have been baptised in Wales in 1834.

Elizabeth senior was deceased by the 1851 census (havent found her death) and John is found living with daughter Margaret in Oswerstry Shropshire. Margaret migrated to Australia in 1852.

It appears Elizabeth junior had an illegitimate daughter also Elizabeth as they are living with John Jones in Oswestry in the 1881 census.

UPDATE:
according to another source John Jones b 1800 was deceased before the 1851 Census....his wife Elizabeth nee Hopkins listed as widowed.
John resided at Foxhall near Oswestry....there is an association with Mile House Farm.

John b 1825 came to St Australia
Thomas b 1826 came to St Australia
Elizabeth b 1827
Martha b 1828
Richard b 1829
Andrew b 1829 (my Margaret also had twins Richard and Andrew)
Margaret b 1831 my GG Grandmother came to Victoria Australia in 1852?
Catherine b 1834 came to St Australia

Hello Vickie,
Have you found Elizabeth and the children in the 1851 census? Do you feel confident about the source that you are using for this information? As you know, there are a bewildering number of Jones families with similar names... You have my sympathy!
